1972 - Villa Ludwig Suite Hotel

1800

The family of Annette Schönauer-Wacker was already settled in the early 1800s with a farm in Alpseestraße in Hohenschwangau. The old ruin of Hohenschwangau Castle was owned by her family, and in 1820 it was sold to King Maximilian of Bavaria (father of King Ludwig II), who built Hohenschwangau Castle in place of the ruin. King Ludwig II spent many years of his childhood there, which inspired the idea to build his fairytale castle Neuschwanstein on the opposite rock.

1899

New construction of a villa by Royal Professor Max von Erdmannsdörffer at Colomanstrasse 12.

1961

Purchase of the old Villa by the Rennig family for use as a holiday home

1972

The old farm building in Alpseestraße of the Schönauer family was demolished in 1972, and in its place, the Hotel Alpenstuben with a restaurant and shop was built at Alpseestraße 8.
